The fatigue of fragmentation…Multi-Hyphenation is a Cop-Out

Scattering of your energy dilutes your focus, leading to mediocrity. So, saying you are multi-hyphenation is a cop out-at least that’s my personal opinion

It’s a defense mechanism against the vulnerability of choosing your path, prioritizing breadth over depth and conflating activity with achievement.

True fulfillment and impact lie in courageously defining your genius, leveraging excellence where needed, and letting go of the rest.

By embracing your zones, you trade the fatigue of fragmentation for the power of purpose, your purpose.

Stop hiding behind hyphens— you have to choose hoose, refine, and own what makes you a 1:1.

The term “multi-hyphenated” (e.g., “designer-entrepreneur-influencer”) often masks a reluctance to commit. In a world that glorifies busyness and versatility, claiming multiple titles can signal insecurity—a fear of being pigeonholed or missing opportunities. However, this scattering of energy dilutes focus, leading to mediocrity. It’s a defense mechanism against the vulnerability of choosing one’s path, prioritizing breadth over depth and conflating activity with achievement.

True fulfillment and impact lie in courageously defining your genius, leveraging excellence where needed, and letting go of the rest.

Like a tree, deep roots (genius) allow branches (excellence) to grow strong. Audiences crave clarity, not confusion. By embracing your zones, you trade the fatigue of fragmentation for the power of purpose. Stop hiding behind hyphens—choose, refine, and own what makes you irreplaceable.
